Genoa lost the first match in Serie A against Milan. The team of trainer Ancelotti did not change anything this summer and was simply too strong for Genoa that played offensive as ever. See last match for more details.
Genoa-Milan
Today Genoa is back for the first time in Serie A and we play against European champions A.C. Milan. A special match, not only because it is the first one of Genoa after 12 years, but also because it is the first time against Milan after their “supporter” Simone Barbaglia killed Genoa-fan Vincenzo Claudio Spagnolo. For this reason there are no Milan-supporters welcome at Marassi-stadium tomorrow.
The most probably teams:
Rubinho
Bega, De Rosa, Lucarelli
Rossi, Milanetto, Paro, Fabiano
Papa Waigo, Gasparetto, Di Vaio
Dida
Oddo, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski
Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini
Kaka, Seedorf
Gilardino
N.B. Tonight Genoa-forward Adailton did not show up at the medical test by Bologna F.C., the Serie B-team that wants to buy our striker. Both clubs have an agreement about the transfer, but Adailton refuses to leave Genoa. The president of Bologna was not happy with the action of Adailton and decided that he wants to buy another player. Good news for us, because we want to keep Adailton !!
Borriello injured at training today
With the arrival of Alessandro Lucarelli the defensive-problems of Mr. Gasperini for the opening-match against Milan are solved, but now the problems are in the offensive part of the team. This afternoon central forward Marco Borriello got injured during the training. The player that was bought from A.C. Milan this summer fears that he can not play against his old-team next Sunday. Because Luciano Figueroa is not ready yet to play, the only solution for sunday is to start with Mirco Gasparetto as central forward.
Alessandro Lucarelli the 10th new player
Latest news from Genova
- Against A.C. Milan for sure midfield-player Manuel Coppola (squalified) and defenders Andrea Masiello + Cesare Bovo (both injured) don’t play.
- Within a few hours the arrival of experienced defender Alessandro Lucarelli of Siena is expected.
- Today – as expected – the authorities banned Milan-fans to visit Genoa-Milan next Sunday
- This afternoon season-ticket 20.000 was sold in Genoa-store.
